PICO Question

In patients who are mechanically ventilated and unable to self-report pain (P), will the use of the Critical Care Pain Observation Tool (I),  provide better pain management as evidenced by appropriate identification of pain episodes throughout routine Critical Care Procedures (O), when compared to the Face, Legs, Activity, Cry, Consolability scale (C)?
